Gift Guide: Ohio Made Jewelry

Ohio is home to so many talented jewelry artists!  And what a great gift idea for someone who loves their home state and appreciates local artisans.  Meet a few of our Ohio based vendors and see a sampling of their items.

In Columbus, Katie Guagenti of Poor Sparrow is a solo jewelry artist using vintage components to create new pieces.  Some of the components are "dead stock" from defunct jewelry makers and Katie's vision and skill turn old pieces into unique trendy jewelry.

Also from the Columbus area, Ashley Perks crafts jewelry under the name Chastina Designs.  Ashley uses metal, leather and semi-precious stones to create fresh, bright looks that can dress up or down.

Columbus is also home to the studio of Red Giraffe Designs, where every piece is hand crafted from various metals and stones.  Some of our stamped jewelry pieces are custom made just for Wit & Whimzy, and I welcome special orders!

New to the shop, Orchard Ridge creates earrings with hand shaped wire and semi precious stones.  They also repurpose unique coins into one-of-a-kind necklaces.

If you like jewelry that multi-tasks, Barb Adams of Clara Donna has just the thing.  Her lovely bracelets and necklaces can be used as essential oil diffusers--just a drop inside the leather tassel or on the lava beads and you can enjoy your oils throughout the day.

Lynne and Lucille's jewelry is a little edgy, a little trendy and very unusual.  Kelli (actually right across the river from Cincinnati) uses guitar strings, vintage flatware, drum cymbals and ethically sourced animal bones and teeth in her creations.  No two items are identical and they are sure to get compliments!
